Whether you’re coming to our office for porcelain veneers, dental implants, or another cosmetic or restorative treatment, talking to you about how you want your smile to look is always the first step.
We call this the “smile design” phase, and it’s important because it lets Dr. Salivonchik get a clear idea of what’s on your mind. And while there may not be any hard-and-fast rules to a smile design, there are some factors you should know about.
Elements of an Esthetically Pleasing Smile
Some hallmarks of a youthful smile include smooth, rounded corners and a contrast between the length of your middle teeth (known as your central incisors) and the teeth directly next to those (called your lateral incisors). Compare this with an older smile, which is likely to be flatter and straighter with no difference between the incisors.
